College Football – Individual or Team Sport?
You hear it all the time from coaches, players, and sports writers all over the country. College football is a team sport. No player needs to be looking out for the individual. They need to be looking out for the team. There is much validity to this argument, but perhaps we are over-simplifying it a bit. Don’t you think?
I mean, for many of these kids that you see on the football field, football is a way out. Not just “A” way out – it is “THE” way out. The way out of what? The way out of poverty, child abuse, drugs and alcohol in the home, and a life-long struggle of growing up in less than desirable conditions.
For these college football athletes whose names you see specled across their teams roster it is absolutely critical that they make something of themselves. It is absolutely critical that they perform on the highest level possible. Otherwise they’ll just have to go use their degree doing something else, right? No – have you seen the degrees that many of these student athletes have? They are not exactly going to make enough money taking care of mom and dad with a degree in criminal justice.
Names on the back of jerseys is critical to the success of the individual. Without these, how do they get noticed by scouts? How do they get noticed by mom and dad and family while on the field? Give these kids some credit – they are all amazing athletes and can do incredible things if only they are given the opportunity.

Be careful – there are hundreds of websites that sell NFL and college apparel, but few are licensed to sell goods. Many of them are really "offshore" companies located in China or elsewhere, where producers of pirated products, even if the elements of the order ship can be seized by U.S. Customs, and even if you get sued and still be closed by the owners of trademarks. ALWAYS make sure that company to buy from an authorized licensee of the NFL license, or other organization – and not just rely on the name the company is accredited to the use of! And 'Also remember that even if you are selling licensed products, may be very difficult and confusing (Often impossible) to obtain special authorization to advertise these products on Google AdWords and other systems that block quote for some brands.
